This session will feature John Greene of Sustainable Water Infrastructure Group, LLC (SWIG) and will explore innovative stormwater treatment technologies designed to help engineers and developers meet Florida’s new state stormwater criteria under SB 7040.
The discussion will focus on SWIG’s patented Phosphorus Elimination System (PES) and Organic Nitrogen Elimination System (ONE), including how these systems can be used independently or together to address nutrient removal and improve water quality outcomes in development projects.
Attendees will gain insight into:

Understanding Environmental Assessments in the Field
Join us on Friday, May 8, from 9:00 AM – 11:00 AM (EDT) for a morning field trip hosted by environmental scientists Sarah Johnson and Danielle Vail of Kimley-Horn at the Hilochee Wildlife Management Area.
During this guided walk along the Osprey Trail, attendees will learn the fundamentals of how environmental assessments are conducted in the field. The session will cover key topics such as identifying protected species, distinguishing wetlands from uplands, and understanding permitting challenges and their implications for development. Participants will also receive a desktop review handout of the trail area and hear about unique projects currently underway in the region.
Attendees will gain insight into:
• Protected species and their significance in environmental assessments
• How to identify wetlands versus uplands in the field
• Permitting hurdles and development implications
• Real-world examples of ongoing environmental projects
Following the guided walk, Sarah and Danielle will be available to answer questions and continue the conversation over lunch.
