This session, “The Power of Placemaking: Integrating Land Planning + Landscape Architecture for Impactful Development,” will be presented by Xin Yang and Yixiao Liu of Landprint.
The discussion will explore how integrated land planning and landscape architecture work together to shape places that are not only entitled and buildable, but also meaningful, marketable, and resilient. Through a clear framework—from visioning and entitlements to design, implementation, and refinement—the presenters will demonstrate how early design thinking influences the physical and experiential architecture of land and helps reduce risk in development decisions.
Using real-world case studies, the session will highlight how placemaking-driven strategies can support approvals, control costs, address technical challenges, and ultimately create stronger community character and long-term value.
