This session, “Siting, Land Acquisition, and Entitlements for Development of Data Centers,” will explore the critical factors involved in identifying, acquiring, and entitling land for data center projects.
The discussion will examine the infrastructure and site requirements that influence data center location decisions, including access to water, electricity, fiber optics, large land parcels, and the appropriate customer base. Attendees will also gain perspective on the importance of engaging and educating communities and civic officials early in the development process.
The session will explore how a lack of early communication can create opportunities for misinformation and community opposition, making it more difficult for developers to communicate the facts and science behind a project as it moves through the entitlement process.
