Trails as Catalysts for Community Growth and Development

  • American Engineering 9300 Deponie Drive Raleigh, NC, 27614 United States (map)

Join us on Wednesday, November 19, 2025, from 9:00 AM – 11:00 AM EST for an insightful Lunch & Learn in Raleigh, North Carolina, hosted by American Engineering.
This session, “Trails as Catalysts for Community Growth and Development,” will be led by Lauren Dickson of American Engineering.

Lauren will explore how thoughtful trail planning can transform communities—enhancing health and wellness, environmental sustainability, social connectivity, and real estate value. Attendees will learn why integrating trails early in the design process creates stronger connections, supports placemaking, and drives long-term community appeal.

The discussion will also highlight how trails can serve as leverage in rezoning and development by building public support, creating planning incentives, and adding political capital. From mobility and inclusion to economic development, trails offer wide-ranging benefits when designed intentionally and in coordination with local municipalities

This session is designed to give developers, planners, and land professionals practical insights on how trails can become a driving force in community growth and project success.

As part of our event, we are proud to support a local food pantry through a community food drive. If you are able, we kindly encourage you to bring a non-perishable food item. All donations will be collected and delivered to a nearby pantry to help those in need.
